VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing basketball?

Haylie: I started playing Upward Bound basketball when I was four years old. Then played league ball with the boys and Mercades Lopez for a couple of years. The boys cut us no slack. I learned quickly to get tough and be aggressive. Between school ball and league ball my love for the game grew.

Haylie: My goals for this season are to have a positive attitude, a good work ethic, bring a lot of energy to the team, and strengthen my offense.

VYPE: Who is your favorite athlete and why?

Haylie: My favorite athlete is Stephen Curry because he may not be the biggest player on the court but he brings positive energy and has a great work ethic.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Haylie: My favorite teacher is Coach Brumley because he is a great math teacher and has unique ways to teach his class, and he is very funny.

VYPE: Who do you look up to and why?

Haylie: I look up to my Dad because he shows me I can be the best that I want to be when I work for it. He teaches me and pushes me to be the best. I am very thankful to have him. Also, my older sister Kylie strives to be better each day and has always worked and done her best. She pushes me to be closer to God and to always do my best.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Haylie: The teammate that has left the biggest impression on me is Molly Rodgers. She is willing to do anything for you and is always there no matter what, has a positive attitude, and she works hard in everything she does.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Haylie: My favorite part about being on the team is having a sisterly bond with my teammates, having fun, making memories, working hard, and pushing each other to be better and better each day.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Haylie: If I could choose to go anywhere I would pick the Bahamas and take my hype girl Raylee Gaston with me.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Haylie: I would like to say a thank you to my Mom and Dad for believing in me and pushing me to be the best that I can be and always being there for me. Also wanted to thank my coaches for pushing me in practice and having confidence in me. Thank you to my biggest fan, my little sister Blakely. My goodbye is to Molly, I hope this season is your favorite season. We will make the best of your senior year. I wish the best for you in the future and thank you for everything. Love you!
