Broken Bow’s Alli Routh – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Pine Cellular

By Chris Chandler Alli Routh knows that excellence comes not just from talent, but from hard work honing that talent. The Broken Bow senior is a cheer co-captain and helped lead her team to the state finals in November in their first-ever OSSAA Game Day Cheer competition.

“Competing in the Game Day competition this year was very memorable. We worked extremely hard to be able to go out on that mat and show the judges what we could do. Of course it was a great learning experience that the younger girls can benefit from, so I am excited to see what they do in the future. All the late nights and early mornings were definitely worth it to be able to go out on the mats and walk off with a smile knowing we did what we came to do!”

Alli works hard in the classroom as well. She is a state academic cheerleading champion and an honor student.  Her classroom work ethic will come in handy in the future, as she plans on continuing her education for quite some time. “After high school I plan on going to Oklahoma State University and majoring in physiology. I later hope to be accepted into medical school and become an orthopedic surgeon.”Though she may someday be known as “Dr. Alli,” the legacy she hopes to leave at Broken Bow High School is one of  friendship, kinship and belonging.

“I would like faculty and students to remember me as a girl who loved people. I always try to keep a positive attitude and work very hard in and out of the classroom. I want to be remembered as a role model for those around me, and as someone they could talk to about anything. I want my teachers to remember me as a hard worker and a fun student who was always smiling.”
