Broken Bow head coach Kraig Sundberg has been the skipper for the Savages for seven seasons. During that time, Sundberg has seen his share of senior classes role through his program. This season, the Savages are led by senior Dawson Robbins.
Coach Sundberg said Robbins should get preseason All-VYPE consideration and could possibly be on the Mr. Baseball Oklahoma watch list.
“Dawson is a three-year starter at catcher and pitcher,” coach Sundberg said. “He is a hard-working young man.”
That hard work continues to pay off for Robbins.
Behind the plate, he is tough to run on and does a great job of calling out the defense. Robbins said he and his teammates are like an extended family.
“My teammates mean everything to me. We are a brotherhood,” said Robbins.
The senior said getting better is always the focus which is something he loves about this team.
“We are always practicing and trying to get better,” said Robbins.
Being part of the larger Broken Bow family is something Robbins said he truly enjoys.
“What makes being a student-athlete at Broken Bow special are the teachers and coaches,” said Robbins.
