Going for Gold with Addison Skelton – Presented by Pine Cellular

VYPE: What are your goals for yourself and your team this season?

Addison: My goal is to be faster every time I run and win a gold medal at the State Track meet. I just want the team to be better at the end of the season then we were at the beginning.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

Addison: I’ve had a lot of fun in the last year. I got the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Africa with my dad this summer and we met the coolest people. In the fall, I really enjoyed watching my boyfriend play quarterback for the Savages on Friday nights. I have also loved getting to watch my best friend Molly and sister Avery play basketball.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade or coach and why?

Addison: A couple of people stand out to me as my favorite teacher or coach. My favorite coach and my favorite teacher are actually married. Coach and Mrs. Wyrick have had a huge impact on my life. They have strengthened my faith and my physical body. But also, both of my grandmothers and two of my aunts are teachers and they have inspired me to want to teach.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

Addison: Going into the 2021 State Track meet I knew Maddie Surber  was going to win. But knowing that didn’t hurt me, it actually helped me push myself to a personal best and win the silver medal.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Addison: My cousin Chloe has made the biggest impact. Even though we only played one season together, I learned so much on how to be a leader and glorify God through success in sports

VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?

Addison: This is our first year to compete together, but I would have to say Chailcey Richbourg says the funniest things to help the team when we’re feeling down.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Addison: I definitely want to vacation in Hawaii. I have always wanted to take a trip there with my friends.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 dollars and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, how would you spend it?

Addison: I would definitely spend the $500 dollars on gas and Chick Fil A.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Addison: I can never say thank you enough to Jesus, my family, and my coaches. They have collectively made me into the person I am today.
