Q&A with Broken Bow thrower Kennedee Brittain
VYPE: What year are you, what sports do you play and what activities are you involved
with?
Kennedee Brittain: Eleventh grade, 2025 graduate. I play fast pitch softball and slow pitch
softball, powerlifting and track. I also shoot skeet in the fall and spring.
VYPE: What’s something everybody should know about you outside of sports?
KB: That I love to be outdoors.
VYPE: How’d you get into shooting skeet?
KB: My sister did it when she was in high school, and I wanted to be better than her at it.
VYPE: What’s your favorite color?
KB: My favorite color is blue.
VYPE: How did you do for spring sports?
KB: We went to state in slow pitch softball and I got 5th at state in the shot put [Friday]. . . I got
fourth [in Discus] and hit a new PR of 117’6”. I also won state in powerlifting in March.
VYPE: How’d you get into track & field and when did you realize you were pretty good?
KB: Well I realized I was pretty good when I was ranked in the class of 4A my freshman year.
VYPE: What are your goals for next year?
KB: My goals for next year is to get stronger and win state again in powerlifting and to do better
in the shot put and discus. I also won state my sophomore year in powerlifting, and my
freshman year I won state in shot put.
VYPE: What are your future plans?
KB: I want to attend college and throw the shot and discus.
VYPE: Have you received any interest?
KB: Not yet.
VYPE: Who’s your favorite musical artist?
KB: Favorite musical artist is Cody Johnson.
VYPE: What’s been the most significant challenge you’ve faced in your throwing career?
KB: I don’t really know. I just have a few kinks in my form.
VYPE: Which teammate, past or present, has had the greatest impact on you and why?
KB: The teammate that has had the biggest impact on my life has to be Caitlynn Hammer. She
helps hold me accountable and pushes me to be the best athlete I can be and even helps me
be a better person.
