Broken Bow’s Anthony Clay Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Evan Smalling, StateFarm

As Broken Bow High School football’s 2023 season approaches, sophomore quarterback Anthony Clay has emerged as the Savages’ expected starter after Christian Brumley’s graduation.

Broken Bow head coach Rod Davis said Clay will have “big expectations and big shoes to fill” following Brumley’s lead. Brumley, who will continue his playing career at Harding University, threw for over 3,000 yards last season as he led the Savages to a 7-4 record. He accounted for over 70 career touchdowns at Broken Bow.

“I learned a lot from Brumley. He taught me a lot about Christianity and how to step up and lead a team,” Clay said. “I’m excited to lead this team and win games.”

Clay hopes to bring his own swagger and big play potential to the Savages offense.

“I’m excited to lead this team and win games,” Clay said. “Y’all can expect from the Savages that we’re going to go out with a fight every time we step out on that field. If I lead this football team, I will have a successful sophomore season.”

Clay aspires to play college football after he graduates in 2026.
