Broken Bow Savages Boys Basketball Team Preview – Presented by Evan Smalling State Farm

BROKEN BOW SAVAGES

BOYS

Coach: Ryan Woolsey

22-23 Record: 16-11

The Broken Bow boys’ basketball team, under the experienced leadership of Head Coach Ryan Woolsey, is gearing up for the upcoming 2023-24 season. With a previous record of 16-11, they’re poised to make their mark once again, even though they face the challenge of a relatively young roster. Coach Woolsey, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his 12 years at the school, understands the team’s potential and transitions they must make to be successful: “We will be young but talented. We graduated one of the state’s top-scorers last year in Kieler Young, but we should be able to replace those numbers, spread out through a number of different guys.” Some players to watch include Tyrin Tinajero (Jr.), who is a versatile guard that can score at all three levels. After a strong sophomore campaign, he’s poised for a breakout junior season, where he’s expected to step up and put-up impressive numbers. Greydon Howell (Fr.) is regarded as the best freshman guard in the state by Coach Woolsey; Howell carries high expectations. Despite his youth, he brings a level of skill and talent that’s hard to ignore. Sam Hurst, the backbone of the team, consistently does all the little things right. His dedication and hard work make him an invaluable asset to the team. Xavier Haywood, another strong player, embodies the ideals of a true student-athlete. He’s a great kid on and off the court. With a strong sense of character, he represents Broken Bow admirably. The Broken Bow boys’ basketball team understands the challenges that lie ahead with a young roster and the departure of a top scorer. However, Coach Woolsey and his staff are confident that this talented group of athletes can step up to the plate and prove themselves on the court. As they prepare to embark on a new season, the Broken Bow boys’ basketball team looks forward to showcasing their growth and the depth of their talent.
