As the sun sets on her last year at Broken Bow High School, Natali Martinez leaves a legacy of leadership, devotion to excellence and hard work. Natali, a senior who loves to dance and play softball, has won the respect of her coaches and teammates for her determination and positive attitude both on and off the field.
For Natali, the approaching end of her high school career serves as a powerful motivator. “With this being my last season, what keeps me motivated is knowing I won’t have another season to play.”
Reflecting on her journey, Natali acknowledges the profound influence of her parents. “My mom and dad are definitely my biggest influences and role models,” she said. “My mom has taught me to be strong and to give 110% at anything I do. My dad has taught me to work hard in anything that I want to accomplish.”
On the softball field, Natali’s dedication is evident in her tireless pursuit of improvement. “One key thing is putting in extra hours or staying after practice and putting in the work on the field,” she shared. Her relentless work ethic has not gone unnoticed, earning her respect and admiration from teammates and coaches alike.
Among the highlights of her athletic career, Natali cherishes the opportunity to perform at the prestigious Citrus Bowl with her dance team in Orlando.
In the realm of sports, Natali finds added motivation in rivalry games, particularly against Idabel. “Broken Bow and Idabel have been rivals for years, which makes the games more interesting and competitive,” she explained. “So when either one of us beats each other, it’s a big deal.”
As a well-rounded student-athlete, Natali is actively involved in various extracurricular activities, including fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball, as well as leadership roles in clubs such as Student Council, FCCLA, and Spanish Club. Her dedication to her school and community extends beyond the sports arena, exemplifying her commitment to making a positive impact.
Looking ahead, Natali plans to attend Ogle School to pursue her passion for esthetics, with dreams of opening her own business and starting a family. Yet, her love for Broken Bow and its community remains unwavering. “Representing my school and community means a lot to me. Showing how hard we work together, how we lift each other up, and cheering for each other on and off the field.”
