Natali Martinez is a sophomore at Broken Bow High School and a member of the varsity basketball team. We caught up with Natali as the team prepares for a three-game home stand in late January.
VYPE: Natali, what do you love most about this team and your teammates?
Martinez: The thing I love most about my teammates is we treat each other like sisters, and we have each other’s back no matter what. Coach Bean pushes us to be our best in every game and teaches us to be patient and to never give up. We are a young team this year and we are learning and growing together as a team as well as sisters.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite subject in school or a favorite teacher?
Martinez: My favorite subject is chemistry because it makes me think outside the box and challenges me. My favorite teacher is Mrs. Price, because she has taught us that life may bring you lots of heartaches but to never give up and trust the Lord.
VYPE: Who has been a big influence on your life, on or off the court?
Martinez: My parents have been the biggest influence in my life. They have taught me to be tough and to never give up. They push me to be the best version of me. They are always proud of me in what I do. My parents are my biggest supporters and loudest fans.
Look for Martinez and the rest of the Lady Savages this season as they work to make it to post season play. For
