Broken Bow’s Sadie Sanders – Cheer Spotlight – Presented by Evan Smalling State Farm Insurance

By Payton Moody

Sadie Sanders, a talented cheerleader from Broken Bow High School, is no stranger to determination, teamwork and passion. With her positive personality and unwavering commitment, Sanders has become a role model for her peers.

When asked about her favorite coach, Sanders credited her past middle school cheer coach, Lauren Ross. “She impacted me as a cheerleader because she was motivational, hard, and knew how to get the best out of me,” Sanders said.

In the world of sports, teammates often become like family. Sanders found inspiration in senior teammate Chloe James: “Being a young lost freshman, I admired senior Chloe James because she was a great teammate, always there if I needed help and treated me like a younger sister.”

Education plays a significant role in an athlete’s life, and Sanders’ favorite teacher, Brandi Brannan, left a lasting impact. “She always helped me with my college algebra homework,” Sanders said.

Preparation is key to success, and Sanders knows it well. “I prepared this offseason and took time to work on my tumbling once a week with my gymnastics coach to prepare for the upcoming season,” she said.

Cheerleading has taught Sanders valuable life lessons. “Your mindset means everything in life,” Sanders said. “How you practice is how you perform. What you put into it is what you will get out of it.”

Among her favorite memories, Sanders cherishes the moments of improvement and camaraderie. “My favorite memories so far have been improving in Game Day cheer competition every year and making top six my junior year and celebrating with my team.”

As she looks ahead, Sanders has ambitious goals. “My biggest goal this season is to be a State Champion in Game Day cheer competition or at least make the top three,” she said.

Beyond high school, Sanders envisions a bright future. “My plans are to attend a university and get my RN and BSN, work in labor and delivery, or become an esthetician and hopefully open up my own business,” Sanders said.
